Online Darzi in Pakistan | How Custom Stitching Works at Fanzer

No queues at the darzi, no repeat trips for fittings and no guessing what "Eid ke baad" means. Here is how Fanzer's online stitching atelier works, step by step.

The problem with the local darzi

Almost everyone in Pakistan has a darzi story. The suit promised for Friday arrives on Tuesday. The neckline is not what you described. Before Eid, many darzis stop taking orders altogether. A good local tailor is valuable, but the system depends on visits, verbal instructions and a lot of patience.

An online darzi solves the parts that cause the most frustration. You describe the fit once, clearly, with numbers, notes and pictures. The fabric is collected from you and the finished outfit comes back to your door, wherever you are in Pakistan.

Two ways to use Fanzer stitching

The first is to add custom stitching to a Fanzer product. On a product page, choose custom stitching at checkout and the piece is stitched to your measurements instead of a standard size.

The second is a standalone stitching request using your own fabric. This is useful when you already have unstitched lawn, a gifted suit or a family favourite fabric that has been sitting in the almari. You submit the request on our stitching page and we arrange collection of the fabric.

Step by step

Step one: tell us how you would like sizing handled. You can enter exact measurements in inches for a precise made to measure fit, or choose a standard size from XS to XL.

Step two: if you prefer not to measure, provide a sample at pickup. Hand over a well fitting outfit and the atelier copies it.

Step three: add notes and a voice note. Explain your preferences in your own words, in English or Urdu. Tell us how loose you like the shirt, the sleeve length you prefer or the gala design you have in mind.

Step four: upload inspiration images or video. A screenshot of a neckline or a photo of a suit you love removes most of the guesswork.

Step five: we collect your fabric and deliver. According to our stitching page, pickup and delivery are free across major cities, and stitching completes in 7 to 12 days. You can add an email address if you would like a stitching confirmation in your inbox.

Measuring yourself at home

You do not need to be a tailor to measure accurately. Use a soft measuring tape and keep it level. Measure bust around the fullest part, waist at the natural waistline, hips around the fullest part and length from the shoulder or neck point to the hem you want. Our size guide has a pictorial guide in both English and Urdu.

A few tips help: wear thin clothing while measuring, ask a family member to hold the tape at the back and measure twice. If a number feels off, compare it with a suit that already fits you well.

Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad and beyond

Lahore: if you live in the city and need summer suits stitched before the season fills up the local tailors' order books, an online request means you can send fabric and instructions without leaving home.

Karachi: long commutes make repeat fitting visits especially painful. Sending measurements or a sample suit once saves those trips.

Islamabad and Rawalpindi: send your fabric with a voice note and reference images, and the finished outfit comes back to your door.

Smaller cities: delivery covers all of Pakistan. Check the stitching page for the details that apply to your city when you submit your request.

Tips for a perfect first order

Be specific in your notes. Instead of "loose fitting", say how many inches of ease you like around the chest, or mention that you want the fit to match the sample suit. Instead of "nice neck", attach a picture of the gala you want.

Use the voice note. Many people find it easier to explain fitting preferences by speaking rather than typing, and you can do it in Urdu or English. Mention anything unusual, such as one shoulder sitting slightly lower or a preference for longer sleeves.

Plan around the calendar. Eid, the wedding season and the start of summer are the busiest times for any darzi, online or offline. Submitting your request early gives you breathing room if you want to make a change.

Keep your measurements. Once you have numbers that work, save them. Your next order becomes much faster, and you can reuse the same measurements for ready to wear sizing decisions using the size guide.

If something does not feel right when the outfit arrives, start by comparing it with your notes and measurements, then message us with your order ID and clear photos. Keeping your original brief handy makes any conversation quick and specific.

What to know before ordering

Custom stitched pieces are made to your measurements, so they are non returnable unless there is a clear workmanship fault, as explained on our shipping and returns page. If there is a fault, message us with your order ID and photos and we will guide the next steps.

Pay by bank transfer at checkout. Send the amount shown, then upload a screenshot of the payment. Timelines for custom stitching are confirmed when your request is accepted, so plan ahead for Eid and shaadi season.
